Animals at the Rio Grande Zoo come from all around the world, from the African wild dogs and chimpanzees found within the Africa exhibit to the spider monkeys and tarantulas in the Tropical America area. Daily feedings of creatures including polar bears and sea lions, in-depth showings of animals including porcupines, alpacas and tropical birds and seasonal camel rides let children become more involved in the zoo experience. Just one of the family-friendly educational attractions held within the Albuquerque Biological Park on the west side of the city, other nearby attractions include the Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.
