Named for the two balloonists who made history by crossing the Atlantic non-stop in their gas-powered balloon, the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum records the history of ballooning and the whole culture that has come to surround the sport. Exhibits include balloons used by famous figures, different types of balloons, scientific instruments used in navigation and pieces of memorabilia from past flights. Situated beside Balloon Fiesta Park in northern Albuquerque, the museum overlooks the launch point for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta that takes place in October.
